Présentation de l'artiste focus
Silvia Listorti (Milan, 1987) graduated with a Visual Arts diploma from NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) and Painting from the Fine Arts Academy of Brera. From 2010 to 2017, she worked with Italian and European theaters and attended Butoh dance workshops and Shodo seminars.
From these experiences, she turns her attention to the body and its incessant change, to the memory inscribed in flesh and matter, to the precariousness and fragility of forms.
Particularly attentive to the intimate transformations of matter, her artistic production draws on different languages, including writing, drawing, and sculpture. The flow of time is at the heart of her making: all the materials she manipulates - glass, plaster, wax, paper - show a slow process of transfiguration that lead to reveal themselves in unknown appearances.
The artist has participated in exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
In 2019 she was chosen for the third edition of ContemporaneaMENTI; that same year, she received special mention in the International MilanoVetro-35 Competition and in 2023 she was awarded the Massimiliano Galliani Prize for drawings.
In 2024 the artist presents her work in the solo show Giorni nel bianco, Casa Cavezzi, Reggio Emilia.
Her works belongs to public and private collections.
She currently lives and works in Milan.
