Gallery Presentation
Florent Maubert created Galerie Maubert in 2010. With an academic and curatorial background in visual art and contemporary dance, he has chosen to confront mediums in order to create a dialogue between artworks.
Galerie Maubert leads a work of research centered on emerging creation. These artists, discovered by the gallery, investigate themes that have marked the history of art and have become the foundations of our contemporary societies: perception, study of forms, use, gesture, space and traces... Galerie Maubert also promotes artists already recognized by the world of art (Sylvie Fanchon, José Loureiro, Nathalie Elemento, Nicolas Floc’h..) and historical figures (Larry Bell, Joachim Bandau, Lucien Hervé...) whose process of recognition is supported both in the economic, critical and historical sphere.
As an independent curator, Florent develops many hybrid projects (exhibitions, publishing, conferences...) combining visual artists and dancers in collaboration with international institutions. In 2020/2022, he curated two exhibitions at the FRAC Franche-Comté: ''Dancing Machines'', and ''Danser sur un volcan''.
Galerie Maubert is part of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries and participates in international art fairs such as Art Brussels, Art Cologne, ARCO Madrid, Art Rotterdam, Paris Photo, Art-o-rama, Drawing Now, Independent...
